Phodiso ya bonna

Phodiso ya bonna is a conversation series and multidisciplinary art therapy workshopped installation aimed at unpacking what our shared responsibilities are towards bridging a response to Gender Based Violence that facilitates a necessary and collective healing, for both men and women alike.

 

Through dialogue sessions that will engage Male IKS experts who are leading and active agents of change in their communities, taking responsibility and doing the work to provide channels and gateways into tried and tested ways of healing and addressing GBV that have worked, we will highlight how the African indigenous knowledge systems promoted the symbiotic and harmonious relating between men and women, did not tolerate any forms of violence, which coincidentally allowed them to be some of the most advanced societies that have ever lived. This ten part series of video recorded episodes intends to: 

• Expose Women and Men to Male experts who are true leaders doing the work and being the solution in their communities.

• Show Men and Women that their healing is possible and inspire them to make changes so that they have the confidence to do the work that desperately needs to take place.

• Showcase and market the groundbreaking work that our speakers are doing and provide a platform where they can share their offerings and solutions with the world.

• At the end of each episode offer a practical tool gifted by the speaker, that the audience can use to begin their healing journey.

• From the creators of the series gift our female audience with the Womb dance CD of songs and an instructional video compilation – for helping women balance the four feminine archetypes within their being, and gift our male audience the Phodiso ya Bonna CD of songs and instructional video compilation – for helping men balance the four masculine archetypes within their being.
